BTEQ Connection

Hi All,

I am having a Teradatabase connectivity and currently i am using Teradata SQL Assistance for connecting to a Teradata Server in some NCR location outside of my company. I want to connect using BTEQ. Can any one please explain how to connect using BTEQ.

In the Windows Hosts file of my client machine (winxp) i included like
teradata teradatacop1

and using BTEQ i given the command as
. logon ,pswd,'teradata'

The error is
*** CLI error: MTDP: EM_NOHOST(224): name not in HOSTS file or names database.
*** Return code from CLI is: 224
*** Error: Logon failed!

Can any one please let me know how i can connect using BTEQ?

Re: BTEQ Connection

Host file should have an entry like

100.1.2.3 fooCOP1

Then start BTEQ and type the .logon command as shown below. Note that the TDPID does not include COP1.

.logon foo/Userid

Also, in BTEQ you can type ".HELP BTEQ" to see the syntax for all BTEQ commands.
