Please provide the following information.
Which one is the client machine? Windows or SusE VM running on Windows?
Where is the Teradata Database located or installed on? Is it on the SuSe VM on Windows?
If you are trying to connect from Windows command prompt to Teradata, you can run the
tdxodbc.exe located in your TTU 15.10 install directory. (Ex. C:\Program Files\teradata\client\15.10\bin
or C:\Program Files (x86)\Teradata\Client\15.10\bin (32-bit). But make sure you create an ODBC DSN
first via ODBC Administrator.
If you are trying to connect from SuSe Linux command prompt to Teradata, you can use the tdxodbc
or tdxodbc64 sample program located in /opt/teradata/client/15.10/bin directory. But, first you need to
setup an environment variable ODBC=/opt/teradata/client/15.10/odbc_64/odbc.ini file. Edit the odbc.ini
file first and add the name of the "tdpid"(Teradata hostname) in the parameter DBCName under the
testdsn DSN. Ex. DBCName=<tdpid_name> or IP Address of Teradata Host/TPA node.
I hope this helps.
