Error 7583 when calling external stored procedure

I'm currently trying out external stored procedures using the Teradata demo software on a WinXP SP2 system. The following XSP does not run in neither in protected mode nor in secure mode. It gives me a "the secure mode processes had a setup error" Message with error number 7583. The manual refers to the system log which does not state any usable information.

The XSP does, however, run well in user mode (alter procedure ... execute not protected).

Is there anything i have to set up under Windows which is not automatically done by the installer script? tdatuser and tdatudf group do acually exist, cufconfig setting are standard. Thanks for your help!

XSP code:

/*****C source file name: getregion.c - quite simple, just for testing*****/

#define SQL_TEXT Latin_Text
#include
#include

void xsp_getregion( VARCHAR_LATIN *region, char sqlstate[6])
{
strcpy((char *)region, "ABCD");
}

Compiler call:

REPLACE PROCEDURE sq_test.GetRegionXSP
(INOUT region VARCHAR(64))
LANGUAGE C
NO SQL
EXTERNAL NAME 'CS!getregion!C:\users\td\xsp\getregion.c!F!xsp_getregion'
PARAMETER STYLE TD_GENERAL;

XSP call:

CALL sq_test.GetRegionXSP('');

*** Failure 7583 The secure mode processes had a set up error.

Re: Error 7583 when calling external stored procedure

Look at the application event log for any events with number 7820 that occurred around the same time you got the 7583. They provide further explanation for any 7583 errors. Then correct the system issue. After fixing some issues you might have to restart the database.

I am facing the same problem, have you found a solution for this?

Re: Error 7583 when calling external stored procedure

SQL,

Were you able to resolve the 7583 error with information from the Windows Event Log?

Re: Error 7583 when calling external stored procedure

did anyone find a solution to this?..

i login to a different machine and get this error when i try to run a java udf. i login to vmware on that machine and try to run the udf. i get this same error.

viewing the log file, it has an corresponding entry of failure 7820.. something of the kind "hybrid server failed to setup"

im not sure if it is caused due to insufficient privileges of my account..
also im not able to change the protection mode of the java udf to 'not protected'...get a failure 9820 'cannot change protection mode of java udf/xsp to not protected'....

did anyone find a solution to this?

Re: Error 7583 when calling external stored procedure

This might be related to a bug in Teradata v 13.0.0.24 or lower version.

Try to upgrade your TD first.

Re: Error 7583 when calling external stored procedure

How to upgrade to newer version... I see only Teradata Express 13.0.0.2 ..
