*** Failure 7566 The protected mode user is not defined; cannot execute UDF

I am trying to execute a UDF for the first time on the DBS using BTEQ in protected mode. I have created the 'tdatuser' user in group 'tdatudf' in UNIX and have successfully created the UDF in the database. I seem to be missing something in the process for setting up the system to execute UDFs.

ERROR:

*** Failure 7566 The protected mode user is not defined; cannot execute UDF
.
Statement# 1, Info =0
*** Total elapsed time was 1 second.

DBS Version: V2R.05.01.02.13
OS: MPRAS 3.0.2

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you certain tdatuser is defined on ALL nodes in your system?

Yes. The interesting thing is when I first checked, the user did not exist but the group 'tdatudf' did. I then created the UNIX user 'tdatuser' as a locked user on all nodes.

A DBS restart resolved the issue following the creation of the user on the UNIX nodes. As the database recovered, it configured the protected mode UDF functionality.
