I have need to connect to a Teradata source to view (read-only) or import data into a single table of hosted FileMaker Pro database. Although Teradata provides ODBC drivers for most platforms, there is no such driver for the Mac. Actual technologies makes approved ODBC drivers for FileMaker, but nothing approved for Teradata.
Currently, we receive exported .xls files from the analyst, which we must import into the FileMaker database, but we'd like that data sooner, and with less manual intervention.
Perhaps someone here can share their experience and provide some advice and tips on how to best implement this connection, and whether it is via the unoffical ODBC drivers for other SQL sources, or using the Teradata JDBC.
Thanks in advance.

You may try some ETL tool to do this. There are a couple of OSS Java based which guarantee to run on MAC/OSX. These allows easy reading of different source data types (including Excel) and writing to most common DBs. FileMaker should work through JDBC-ODBC bridge.
Look at CloverETL (www.cloveretl.com), Talend (talend.com) or Pentaho/Kettle.
Thank you dadik, for your response. I am sorry I did not reply sooner.
I will check out the resources you suggested.
