.NET provider vs. ODBC

Hello.

We have some performance issue on Teradata DB. Select with 36 columns return approx. 10000 rows:

- .NET provider, TdDataReader ... 7:17 minutes,

- ODBC, DbReader ... 4:26 minutes.

Is it expected result? Or is any "known issue" in .NET provider when using reader?

P.

Re: .NET provider vs. ODBC

In our tests the "Microsoft Data Provider for ODBC" is slower than the .NET Data Provider for Teradata. It would be very difficult to analyze your issue remotely. I suggest you open and incident.

Re: .NET provider vs. ODBC

I use:

- Teradata ODBC driver, 15.00.00.11

- .NET provider for Teradata, 14.11.00.01.

How to open an incident? Do I need to create Teradata account?

You should contact your DBA to find out if your organization has a service agreement and how to open an incident.
