OLEDB Authentication Connection String Attribute

Hello:

I'm trying to add authenticatio to an OLEDB connction string. What is the correct format?

I'm looking for something like this possibly:

Authentication=ldap;Authentication Parameter=params;

The Teradata manuals only have an example of the Teradata Connection Dialog, but I'm unable to tell how this translates into a connection string. Thanks.

Re: OLEDB Authentication Connection String Attribute

a) Create an empty file with UDL extension; for example right click in Windows Explorer, select new and select Text File; now you can rename it to x.udl.

b) double-click x.udl file; it should display the "Data Link Properties" dialog box.

c) select the "Provider" tab; select "OLE DB Provider for Teradata".

d) Select "All" tab; select "Authentication Mechanism" and click the "Edit Values".

e) Select "Authentication Mechanism Data" and Click the "Edit Value".

f) Select "Connection" tab; click "Test Connection".

g) finally click OK;

h) Open the file (x.udl) with notepad; you will see the complete Connection String.

Re: OLEDB Authentication Connection String Attribute

After I create a UDL file - how do I used it?

I would like to "Link Server" in the MS Management Studio (MS SQL 2005 <> Teradata 12.0.3 via OLE DB)

Anyone has ever managed to do this?
