Ubuntu is not currently a supported client platform. Could you use the (platform-independent) JDBC driver for your application instead?
(Search for Product ID B035-3119 on www.info.teradata.com to find supported platforms by release.)
We find the JDBC driver slower and have had issues with the session not closing properly leaving the connection idle.
I have hacked the linux_indep ODBC drvier into Ubuntu (14 & 16), but I don't sleep well at night as a result. It works great on Ubuntu, once installed. Is there a reason for not supporting Ubuntu or other (arguably) more popular distros than RedHat and SUSE?
Adding support for another platform is based largely on customer demand.
Any customer who wants Ubuntu client support should tell their Teradata account team.
