new technologies are coming on site and i suggested to set a specific queryband for sessions connecting from SPARK to TERADATA.
Easy to say but i don't know how to set Query banding when connecting to Teradata from SPARK: in connection properties ? before 'select' construction ?
it seems different from JDBC syntax and methods and i do not find any documentation.
I'm not familiar with SPARK, but 'setting a query band' is just a matter of executing an SQL request:
SET QUERY_BAND = 'name=value;' FOR ...;
Will that work for you? This would be done after your application has connected.
Sure the SET command as a first order at the beginning of a script will work, as far as the rule is followed in developments ...
The idea was to pass a SET command in the connection chain as a JDBC connection allows it.
When using SPARK, which api are you using to connect to the Teradata system? (jdbc, odbc etc.)
It sounds like you'll need to investigate the connection properties for the api that you're using.
