VBA - ODBC Teradata Driver - Not enough information to log on

Hi

It's my first post in the forum - so excuse me for my english ... I'm French :)

I try to connect VBA and Teradata.

- Excel 2013

- Terdata V14.10.00.03

- Odbc Admin 32 and 64 (is it normal to have the 32b and 64b ?)

Firstable, when I was selected "Teradata Driver" in the "Teradata ODBC SetUp Admin" I have an msg error :

-- unknow error occured in terasso library --

But it isn't locked for the rest of manipulation.

After, I do my VBA code (library VBA are OK) :

Dim Cn As ADODB.Connection
Dim Rc As ADODB.Recordset

Set Cn = New ADODB.Connection

On Error GoTo Invalid

Cn.Open "Driver={Teradata};DBCnane=MyTeradata;Uid=JohnDoe;Pwd=JohnDoe;"

Invalid:

MsgBox ("There was error number " & Err.Number & ". This is " & Err.Description & ".")

I have the message error : ODBC Teradata Driver - Not enough information to log on

MyTeradata is the Name of my ODBC Creation.

When I try to connect to Teradata directy by Excel Data Source, I have the same message error.

I don't know where is the problem, but I think it's on the Driver Odbc Admin 32 and 64 ...

Please, Can you help me ?

Regards

Re: VBA - ODBC Teradata Driver - Not enough information to log on

Hi,

It is quite common to have both 32 and 64-bit ODBC drivers on the same pc.

You need to ensure that you are using the correct one for your version of Excel.

If you are using Excel 64-bit then you must use ODBC 64-bit and vice-versa for 32-bit.

It looks like you've got an installation issue for ODBC and/or TeraGSS. You might need to check the install logs for those and/or re-install them. I think you'll find the installation logs in your %TEMP% folder.

Cheers,

Dave

You have a typo in the connection-string; change DBCnane to DBCName.
