Visual Studio 2012 Server Explorer does not show Teradata provider

Hi I installed the latest version of the .Net driver (14.10).

I have both VS 2010 and VS 2012 installed.

In VS 2010 the Server Explorer shows the .Net provider for Teradata but VS 2012 does not.

I was expecting the latest version to work with the Visual Studio 2012.

Can someone please clarify.

Thanks,

Faisal

Re: Visual Studio 2012 Server Explorer does not show Teradata provider

.NET Data Provider for Teradata version 14.10 does not integrate with Visual Studio 2012.

is there a version of .net data provider for teradata that is integrated with VS2012?

Does the 14.11 driver integrate with Visual Studio 2012?

Is there a manual work around for this, or an ETA on when we might see proper VS 2012 support?

I found a solution myself. If anyone wants to intergrate the .Net Provider V 14.11 into VS 2012, do the following:

1. Cut and paste this registry info into a text file and add it to your registry.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0\DataSources\{0f22d68f-e46d-11da-99a1-00132016887f}]

2. Then go to the command prompt and run the following.

Re: Visual Studio 2012 Server Explorer does not show Teradata provider

Actualy, I'm not sure if the GUID's will be the same on all machines. If you have VS 2010 installed, you can also export the DataProviders, DataSources, and Packages keys from your HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0 tree, then edit the exported files, replacing 10.0 with 11.0, and add the modified keys.
