ANSI and BTET

Hi,

Using bteq, some sql dmls I want to use btet and some I want to use ANSI in the same script. I know how to set it(.set session trans.....). Can we use bt et in first part of the script and once that is done in the last part of the script I want to implement ANSI(commit, rollback) because of business requirement. Please let me know.

Re: ANSI and BTET

Would the entire script be re-runnable if it failed in the ANSI section?

Re: ANSI and BTET

The script must be run only once and it should be successful.

Hi Raja,
you could logoff after the first part, then specify the new session mode and logon again.

But why do you think you need to mix BTET and ANSI in the same batch?
IMHO there's nothing you can't rewrite for the other mode.

Dieter,

It is just that I want to see the solution. I guess between the logon and logoff, I cannot change from btet to ansi. Am I right?

Thanks and regards,

just try to change mode and watch the error message :-)

Re: ANSI and BTET

Hi Supreme,

I can try that ..no issue. But company pays me for my result-oriented works..not for error-producing codes. If I know it 100% right in the first shot (getting the right info from the document) then it saves time. The organization I work for will be happy :))))) :).. JUST KIDDING....
