BTEQ Login without passing password

BTEQ Login without passing password

I am new to Teradata and trying to convert our unix script that connects to oracle using the operating system login ID which is currently create as DB user (but externally)..

The oracle login uses "sqlplus -s /" which used the OS user ID and login to the DB without having the loginID and password on the command line.

What is the equivalent in teradata ?

Re: BTEQ Login without passing password

Hi,

You can save your password and login id in a file and use it inside the BTEQ for login.

you can save the following line

.LOGON DBNAME/LOGINID,PASSSWORD;

inside a file (ie) homefolder/login

and inside bteq you can use this file for login.(ie)

.RUN FILE homefolder/login
