Bteq Export LImitation???

Hello,

i am trying to export 34M records into a flat file of record length 97 using BTEQ export.
I am getting error after exporting 24M records and says "output FIle is to large"

Please let me know if there is any limitation on bteq export and also any alternative for this.

thanks,
Sparan

Re: Bteq Export LImitation???

There is an option called RetLimit in BTEQ. You can specify the number of records that bteq can export. The maximum can be 2,147,483,407 records. So if you are exporting beyond the maximum limit I hope you will get the error.

I think there is a file limitation of 2 GB.
You cannot create a file greater that 2 GB.

Vinay is correct. A file with 34MM 97 byte rows is about 3GB. If you are exporting to Unix, there is a 2GB limitation within Unix. If you are exporting to Windows or MVS, you should have no problem going over 2GB.

Hi

Well divide the file into two parts by using a where clause in the EXPORT SQL and create two individually files.
