C UDF compiled with CS option

Hey,

Does anyone know what is needed on the client side (Windows and Linux/Unix), when creating/replacing UDFs written in C with CS option in "EXTERNAL NAME" path?

Should client system have specific compiler and which one, if any? How it should be configured?

Re: C UDF compiled with CS option

With the CS option, the UDF source code is transmitted from the client to the server, and compiled on the server. No compiler is needed on the client side.

Thanks!

After your answer I found this in documentation:

"The system automatically copies any client-resident source, header, or object files specified in

the External Name clause to the server. Note that the system does not transport external:

libraries and shared object files, which must be manually installed in Teradata Database."

And checked it on clean Windows XP and Windows 7, just to be sure.

Teradata Tools contains C preprocessor.

Sorry for placing this question in wrong forum, I read the descprition too late
