We have a DBA in our team who left the organisation.
Most of the teradata objects are created by his id and now as he left we need to drop his user id.
Please let me know if there is any impact of dropping his id.
I find his id mentioned as CreatorName for most of the objects.
Also please help if there is any command to change the ownership for all the objects and if thats necessary.
There is no impact in dropping the 'creator' of an object - for most objects (tables, databases, views etc).
The exceptions are:
"Stored Procedures" where you have 'sql security' option set to 'creator'
"User Defined Functions" where the "sql security definer" is specified.
You might also need to check "user defined methods" and "user defined types" (if you have any of these).
The following sql should help identify most of these objects:
SELECT databasename,TABLENAME ,tablekind FROM dbc.tablesv WHERE creatorname = 'old-user-name' AND tablekind NOT IN ('t','v','m','q','o','n','m','k','j','i','g') ORDER BY 1,2;
See where that gets you.
