CREATE TABLE cust_val_add_tax_rgstr ( asof_src_dt DATE NOT NULL, asof_src_tm TIME(0) NOT NULL, asof_trgt_dt DATE NOT NULL, asof_trgt_tm TIME(0) NOT NULL, src_sys_nm CHAR(20) NOT NULL, cust_nbr CHAR(10) NOT NULL CHARACTER SET UNICODE , ctry_cd CHAR(3) NOT NULL CHARACTER SET UNICODE , val_add_tax_rgstr_nbr CHAR(20) CHARACTER SET UNICODE ) UNIQUE PRIMARY INDEX xcust_val_add_tax_rgstr01 (cust_nbr, ctry_cd);
then I have executed the following comment and got the error "Comment string is longer than permitted"
COMMENT ON TABLE cust_val_add_tax_rgstr IS ' ';
Can you please let me know what is the maximum limit of comment string length?
Also after adding a cooment when I execute the command "show table cust_val_add_tax_rgstr" I can't see the comments along with the table script. I can see that using a statement like "COMMENT ON TABLE cust_val_add_tax_rgstr" but I want to know is there any command by which we can see comments along with the create table script.
Same situation about the COMMENT. This is during our efforts to maintain meta data. If my comments are more than 255 characters, what should I do? Is there any other type that I can store the comments?
