Teradata reduces DBA work by doing some activities by itself or never having to do certain activities at all. For example.. 1. Never need to reorganize data or index space which is required in some databases and usually scheduled as a weekend activity (generating pay packet for other database DBA's) 2. No need to allocate space for tables or indexes & no need to format partitions. 3. Data cleansing can be achieved through SQL's. 4. No need to do any special settings to make the queries run parallely, it is automatic. 5. No need to export and import data periodically. 6. Simple schemes of partition. 7. No need to split the input source files into partitions for loading.
