DSA Backup Taking Longer

Hi experts, I have noticed that DSA backup takes around 4 GB per minute that means in 5 hours it will only backup 1.2 TB. What if we have data size 10 TB. Currently default streams are 4. What maximum limit of streams ? Will increasing streams fast the time ? How backup is performed in Telecommunication companies as their data is 30 TB 40 TB of such volume. We want to complete 10 TB in 10 hours. Please advise some solution.

Re: DSA Backup Taking Longer

DSA backup speed depends on several factors like TD H/W model,BAR H/W configuration, network connectivity, soft limit, number of streams used, number of parallely running DSA jobs,Hard limit.
I haven't read any max limit on number of streams that can be used.
4 streams is definitely very less.Increasing the streams will help.

Also if you use something like Data Domain then your subsequent backups will much much faster due to deduplication.

Re: DSA Backup Taking Longer

Thank You. We have 10G cards connecting Media Server, Teradata Node and BAR server with Fiber. I will check it by increasing the streams. Can you refer me some link for going through the data deduplication ? It will help me.

Thanks
