Drop Error: Falied 3932

Hi All,

Executing SQL statement like

Drop error table for TableX;

Alter TableX Add COLUMN_NAME varchar(20);

Results in an error:

Drop Error: Falied 3932: Only an ET or null statement is legal after a DDL statement

Executing it line by line works fine but as an entire SQL statement it causes this error message.

Anyone has an explanation for this perhaps?

Regards,

Marco

Re: Drop Error: Falied 3932

Teradata requires that a DDL statement be the last/only statement in a unit of work - it must be committed before any additional statement can be submitted.

And a multi-statement request is implicitly a unit of work.
