Getting the name of a LOB object in Teradata

We are exporting an LOB object in Teradata to hadoop using a JDBC applicaiton. We were able to export it successfully but unable to retrieve the information about the name of the object(Image/PDF) stored in the LOB column. The application read and wirtes the LOB data using a stream in binary mode. When we use a LOB column in a Teradata table is it necessery to store the name of the object stored in that LOB column in another column of the table?Else how are we going to extract the name of the object?

Yes, if you need to keep track of the original filename that contained the LOB data, then you will need another column in the table to store the original filename.
