How to Enable/Disable Indexes in Teradata.

Hi ,

Can anybody help me out how to Enable/Disable the indexes in Teradata.
My requirement is to change the values on Unique Primary Index(UPI) , for that we need to disable the index and update the values and then enable the index.
Is there any better options available to change values on indexes either it is UPI,NUPI,USI and NUSI.

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

You cannot drop UPI of a table, though you can change the values of it. Can you please provide table DDL of which you want to change UPI values?

Re: How to Enable/Disable Indexes in Teradata.

Thanks for the information.
CREATE SET TABLE CIDLIVE_XMATCH.XM_DUBIOUS_DOB ,NO FALLBACK ,
NO BEFORE JOURNAL,NO AFTER JOURNAL,CHECKSUM = DEFAULT
(DTE_BIRTH DATE FORMAT 'YY/MM/DD' NOT NULL,
DTE_ENTRD DATE FORMAT 'YY/MM/DD')
UNIQUE PRIMARY INDEX ( DTE_BIRTH );

Above is the DDL of the table i want to update/change the values for DTE_BIRTH which is a UPI.
Like above table,i need to change the values in couple of tables for NUPI,USI and NUSI.

Could you please provide the syntax for the same.

Appreciate your help.
