Re: IDLE SESSION BLOCKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Probably not! But what do you consider to be an idle session? If you are logged on an ANSI mode session and you submitted some updates or query you still have an open transaction (holding locks) until you send the COMMIT statement to end the transaction. Just stating that you aborted the idle session indicates that you had an outstanding transaction. Aborting the transaction released the locks

Could also happen if those "idle" session had explicit TD begin transaction (BT statements) and was not committed (ET).

Hi All,
Thanks for your replies.later it was found that a 3 rd party tool was holding a lock as it was not logged off after transaction was completed..
