Hello, I have table X with 1.3 Million records and table Y with 4.5 Million records. I have Unique Primary Index(UPI) on columns A,B,C,D on table X and I have Non Unique Primary Index(NUPI) on A,B,C,D on table Y. When I join these two tables on all these columns(A,B,C and D), it is redistributing table Y! I checked the data types on these columns in both tables and they are exactly same. I thought it was one AMP operation and the data from both tables with same values for A,B,C,D will reside in the same AMP. Am I missing anything? Thanks in advance for your help. Thanks, Keshav
Redistributing on which columns? Any other columns of the table Y? it should not redistribute rows when you are joining tables on PI and you have specified all the PI columns in Join Condition. Can you paste your SQL query and exact Explain OUTPUT to understand the problem.
