Lock qsn

Hi all!

I need som help here..how do I found out if a table was been locked . It seems that one user was blocked by another for a couple of others. But the user that was blocking does not ave any qry running for long. So under what circumstances would he block the other user? Otr what should we check?

Thanks!

Re: Lock qsn

If a utility lock was the blocker, the SHOWLOCKS utility will report it. You can also use the LOKDISP utility to get information about all the outstanding locks in the system. See the utilities manual for details.

We do not have a SHOWLOCKS utility, can I check any DBC tables ?

Re: Lock qsn

There's no (b)locking info in any dbc table.
You need access to any tool using the Performance Monitor API, e.g PMon or the UDFs in syslib like MonitorMySessions.
