Locking on DBC.All

User X is blocked by another user Y as user Y is holding a WRITE lock on table DBC.All

What is the DBC.All table? When is it used?what is the write operation that is being performed by the user session?

(Tried using show table/view DBC.ALL ,but encountered error).

Appreciate your help!!

Thanks

Re: Locking on DBC.All

Kishore,

this is just from the DD manual:

The DBC.ALL table provides you with a table name for a zero table ID. This can occur when

you submit a GRANT request to grant a privilege on a database without specifying a table. In

this case, the system uses DBC.ALL as the table name.

The DBC.ALL table must exist to allow a join between the various tables that store privileges

and the DBC.TVM table.
