How does the turning the LOG option on and off while creating a table affect the performance,
where can we view this log?
the NO LOG option is only available for temporary tables. It switches off the Transient Journal, which is Teradata's transaction log. As a result insert/update/deletes usually run faster, but any error will simply empty the table as a rollback is not possible.
The Transient Journal is located in DBC, but this is just a dummy, it has no definition and can't be accessed by any means.
Also i am having diffculty in finding the download link for the windows version of TD 12 /13 express
editon for developers.
Can anyone suggest me the correct link ?
i don't think the old Windows versions are still available.
But why do you need them?
I prefer the VMWare TD Express, because i can easily switch versions and it's closer to a real system (there's no more Teradata for Windows anymore)
