Monitoring Daily Spool space usage.

Hi,

I need to monitor the spool space used throughout the day (every 10 minutes or so). So I can trend the actual usage over the month. I need to verify that we are using 30% or less or else we may hit problems as our data grows up to the 70% usilised mark.

Do any of you have any strategies for collecting this data ? as with all our data we need it exporting into analysis tools, so viewpoint would not be much use here (just incase it does have a widget or a thingy)!

thanks

Re: Monitoring Daily Spool space usage.

It's just like any other history:
Use a scheduled job to insert/select from dbc.diskspace or (preferred on TD12) syslib.monitorsessions.

Of course Viewpoint already collects spool space metrics and displays it in "Capacity Heatmap" or "Metrics Graph".
As Viewpoint uses PostgreSQL you should be able to access that data, too.
But i don't know if there's an "official" way to read those tables.

Thanks Dieter,

I thought that would be the answer, just didn't want to implement something, if its already there.
