Need os PERM Space in Stored Procedure

Hi ,

Can some one tell me what is the use of PERM Space in Stored Procedures .

SP's cursors are working sequentially on rows after being held in SPOOL ,than what is the need of PERM Space ?

Like macros can't they keep their definations only on Data Dictionary and don't require PERM Space. ?

Thanks

Re: Need os PERM Space in Stored Procedure

Hello,

SPs are not stored as definitions in dictionary because they are pre-compiled .... which means they are not supposed to be compiled on each call.

HTH!
