New to Teradata

Hi!

First, I would like to appologize to those who will find my question too general or even maybe irrelevant to the forum topics that can be found here, but I need to ask these questions.

I just got a job in a Telekom company that is using Teradata. I have a few assignments that have to do with ETL processes.

What I am really trying to figure out is some general structure of data, tables... Can anyone help me to get started. What are the main points I should consider. What do I need to look for? On what do I need to pay more attention. Everything seems owerwhelming.

Are there any tools that generate ER diagrams, if yes - which one can you suggest me to use? Are there any other useful tools which could help to to grasp all these concepts and structure in a shorter period of time?

Thanks in advance for your help!

D.

Re: New to Teradata

To start.....What kind of data will you be accessing? It is hard to give you advice on tpes of structure for tables when the data type is unknown.
