Online Backup in conjunction with Incremental Backup (AFTER JOURNAL)

Hi.

Is there any limitation in the use of Online Backup in conjunction with Incremental Backup (AFTER JOURNAL)?

I'm working on a client that currently uses a job online backup weekly. Now, for just a few databases, this customer will have the need to implement incremental backups (AFTER JOURNAL).

Currently runs a weekly online full backup:

---

ARCHIVE DATA TABLES(DBC) ALL,

Exclude (DBC),

RELEASE LOCK,

ONLINE,

FILE…

---

Note: In a separate backup job also runs the data (DBC) dictionary.

The customer wants to switch to a weekly job (Sunday) as below:

---

ARCHIVE DATA TABLES(DBC) ALL,

Exclude (DBC),

RELEASE LOCK,

ONLINE,

FILE…

CHECKPOINT (JOURNAL_DB.JNLTABLE), WITH SAVE, NAMED JOURNALDIARIO;

ARCHIVE JOURNAL TABLES (JOURNAL_DB.JNLTABLE),

RELEASE LOCK,FILE=…

DELETE SAVED JOURNAL (JOURNAL_DB.JNLTABLE);

---

And a daily job (Monday - Saturday) as below:

---

CHECKPOINT (JOURNAL_DB.JNLTABLE), WITH SAVE, NAMED JOURNALDIARIO;

ARCHIVE JOURNAL TABLES (JOURNAL_DB.JNLTABLE),

RELEASE LOCK,FILE=…

DELETE SAVED JOURNAL (JOURNAL_DB.JNLTABLE);

---

Is there any limitation on the use of the online weekly backup, working together with the incremental backup during Sunday?

I also have interest in materials on good practices in the use of incremental backup (AFTER JOURNAL) and examples of strategies.
