Oracle Table to Teradata DDL

I want to form a teradata table structure for a given oracle table.

Do we have any ways to acheive this ?

Also I heard about ora2td tool which will help to acheive this. but I do not have enough details regarding this tool.

Could someone help with this. If possible please share details regarding ora2td tool.

Thanks,

Muthu.

Re: Oracle Table to Teradata DDL

Hi Muthu,

I think there is a tool Teradata aceleration manager provided by Teradata .It will be helpful if you have to do this migration activity for large numner of objects.

If you have to do this for just a couple of tables ,then it will be better to do it manually rather than investing on a tool. You can refer the link below , which will help you in comparing Teradata data types to Oracle data types.

Re: Oracle Table to Teradata DDL

There is a small utility ( i wouldn't call it a tool) to do this task, but even that doesn't generate the output which can be used as-is .... meaning it involves manual effort to get the best output.

How many tables you wish to migrate?

Try AQT (Advanced Query tool).
