We have frequent TD-Mini-cyl packs running on our system .
PACKDISK also serve the same purpose ? Can we run PACKDISK to avoid ferquent mini-cyl-packs running on our system.
Also is there any document how to perform packdisk through remote console activity as i m new to it ?
Kindly help on the above queries.
Running packdisk might make it less likely that you need to do mini-cyl-pack on the fly, but doesn't address the underlying issue (not enough physical disk to comfortably support the workload).
Are the cylpack events limited to a few AMPs or across the entire system? At the times when you see the cylpack activity, what is running? Is something using excessive spool or temp space (on the affected AMPs)? Is DBC.TransientJournal excessively large (on those AMPs)? Are there any very large permanent tables being reloaded / re-created?
