Sample duration in DBQLSummaryTbl

Teradata 12 documentation (doc name: Teradata Adminstration - B035-1093-067A) states that:

"DBQL maintains summary counters in cache. The contents are committed to the
DBQLSummaryTbl table every 10 minutes, when the cache is flushed"

Hence we see that logging in DBQLSummaryTbl is done after every 10 minutes. Are we sure that this 10 minutes in unchangeable? or is it possible to configure the logging time (like using MultiTool-->RSS for ResUsage).

Re: Sample duration in DBQLSummaryTbl

10 minutes is just the default, it might be changed to a larger value using dbscontrol general field 33. DBQLFlushRate

Re: Sample duration in DBQLSummaryTbl

Thanks. The flush rate field can change the default value (1 to 3600 secs) but I think that we aren't sure about the exact time taken by the sample because if the cache fills in earlier than the flush rate then the records will be written in the table no matter what. Or is this (cache) scenario only for DBQLogTbl?

Re: Sample duration in DBQLSummaryTbl

It's for all DBQL tables, but the probability that the summary cache will overflow is much lower due to less data.
