Select with Grant - Security Loophole?

Hi,

I recently came across a situation where I have to create a View in sandbox_db. The View/Macro definition has a join to another view on our Prod_db. Therefore requiring a select with grant permission to select from the view that I created in sandbox_db. Our DBAs described it as DB to DB permission and they couldn't grant it for me because that opens up a security loophole which allow me to grant permissions for other users on Prod_db. Is there any solution to this problem? Is Teradata going to offer a solution this in future releases?

Thanks in advance,

Raghu

Try creating that view within your own user.

Then your user can use it, but you can't grant Select on it to other users.
