PLease can anyone let me know what the PACK parameter in TPUMP exactly does.
I read some where that it improves the network and channel efficiency by reducing the number of handshakes.
I heard that the max limit for TPUMP has been raised from 600 to 2340.
But still how it works I am not able to understand.
Please throw some light on the same.
"PACK <statements>" in TPUMP are used to specify the number of data records to be packed into one request,
PACK is a TPump keyword and “statements” actually refers to the number of data records to be packed.
Packing improves network/channel efficiency by reducing the number of sends and receives between the application and the Teradata Database.
