Teradata Developer Edition on vmware - login/installation problem

I'm in the process of installing Teradata Developer Edition using vmware however unfortunately when I turn on the console and it boots automatically I'm prompted with a login/password combination which I'm not privy to and therefore can't proceed any further with the installation process.

All documentation indicates that this should be root/root however this doesn't work. I've also tried following this: https://pubs.vmware.com/log-insight-20/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.log-insight.administration.doc%... however grub tells me that it doesn't recognise any of the commands.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? I'd be grateful for any assistance as my 60-day free trial of vmware is running down.

Regards,

Ben

The default for the TDE guest OS should be root/root. But perhaps you are not that far yet, and are being prompted by VMware for admin login. Try root/vmware.

Fred, thanks very much for your reply, however that didn't work.

Looking on various guides it seems to be that there is a GUI for SUSE however when I boot the virtual machine takes me straight into a console view (where the Linux login is prompted), so I'm starting to question if I have the setup configured correctly.

Sorted: the default logins are set out in Teradata (not the vmware guide!) guide on page 25 - http://d289lrf5tw1zls.cloudfront.net/database/teradata-express/communityedition15.02/5938-086K_DE_Up...

Should have checked this before, and serves me right for following 'unofficial' guidance on it & the vmware documentation. Thanks for your help!
