I'm trying to install teradata 14 on Windows 2003x64 server manually.
I've installed core modules without problem but when I install TPT, it gives me error: 'java’ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I've already installed jre6, jre 7 and jdk 1.6.0_37 on my system and it's working with other softwares.
I've also checked the 'Environment variables' and it's correct. It has follwing variable and values defined.
Path : %JAVA_HOME%\bin;
JAVA_HOME : C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7 ------- I've already tried different values pointing to different versions of java to 32bit and 64bit folders
I've also noticed that on command prompt java.exe is running until I install TPT.
About Installation: Followed as per the Teradata Tools and Utilities for Microsoft Windows, Installation Guide Release 14.00
Installed items in following order...
1) Shared ICU Libraries for Teradata (tdicu) (32bit & 64bit)
2) Teradata Generic Security Services Client (teragss) (32bit & 64bit)
3) Teradata Call-Level Interface version 2 (cliv2) (32bit & 64bit)
4) ODBC Driver for Teradata (tdodbc) (32bit & 64bit)
5) .NET Data Provider for Teradata
6) Teradata Data Connector (piom) (32bit & 64bit)
---------Java is running upto this point.----------
7) Teradata Parallel Transporter Base (32bit & 64bit)
8) Teradata Parallel Transporter Stream (32bit & 64bit)
---------Java stopped working.----------
I've varified Environment Variables for java at this point and they are same as above.
If I launch TPT Wizard it is also not working and showing following error....
Now If I uninstall 8(TPT Stream) and 7(TPT Base), java starts working.
I'll appreciate the help from forum members to solve this problem.
I'm having same issue as you. How did you get the 64bit version of the TPT?? The latest post I have seen indicates that Teradata only provides the 32bit TPT utility!??
I have a win 2008 64 bit and all the underlying Teradata components in 64 bit. But now i'm having the issue of getting the 64 bit TPT, I cannot find it! Elsewhere here on the forums I have seen feinholz write that the TPT is only in 32 bit!
Teradata have 64bit TPT utility available from Ver13.10 onwards. Unfortunately its not free.
I also have opened a ticket on TAYS(Teradata at your service - it's a service for corporate cutomers) 1 month a go, but still waiting for solution.
