## Testing environment changes

Hi!

I have a requirement where we need to replace the database names in the BTEQ script with the actual databse name depending on the enviroment. Example -
1. db1.tb1 should be replaced with 'USR.tb1'
2. db2.tb1 should be replaced with 'USER.tb1' .
This is for one environment. In other environment we need to replace with other names.
We are thinking of having all the database names and variables in one file and pass this file depending on the environment.
Can this be done in teradata?

Thanks!

I'm also looking for similar requirement. We are facing many challenges when moving from Oracle to TD, specially on these little things.

Appreciate any ideas ???

What is the platform you are using to trgger teradata? Is it Unix or someting else?

If unix you have a parameter 'hostname' which gives you the environment server on which it is trigerred. By that you can write your code.
