We are using DSA as our Backup and Restore option.
Lately, we have had issues with the Restore portion on our DRT system.
We had a restore job that ran for several hours but seemed to make no progress. The job was aborted.
Now, when trying to select from certain tables generates a 2654 error... Operation not allowed. Table is being Restored.
However, SHOWLOCKS tells us that there are NO host utility locks on the system at all.l
Has anyone else experienced this? What was the solution?
We will perform our quarterly refresh later this month, so I know that will take care of it. Was just wondering if there was any other way.
Please suggest me Regarding archive loggs:
Is there anyway we could run both FASTLOAD AND Backups parallely on the same objects?
Trouble is DBC needs to take archive logg on the objects( during online backups) it supposed to backup; however if FASTLOAD is running a load job then it takes explicit archive log and then DBC skipping objects which lead to BACKUPS COMPLETED WITH ERROS. Is there anyway to go around this.
If Above is a NO,What if we make sure FASTLOAD is running exclusively after the Backup job? While backup job continues, if the FASTLOAD is kicked off; will it go to blocked state or fails?
That's routine spillover. Wiht ARC, you'd often be able to recover by running the BUILD command against the problem objects. With DSA, the way forward is to get the restore to complete without error. There shoudl be errors in one of the log files.
