When you FETCH a cursor you usually want to process the data within the SP.

 

The syntax to return a result is also based on a cursor declaration (blame Standard SQL), but a result set cursor is just OPENed, no FETCH, etc.

And don't CLOSE it, otherwise there's no answer set returned.

 

Regarding the error 3212 in JDBC, don't know why it's tagged as error, should be a warning.
