Way to retrieve old definition of a view

HI,

Other than from the backup, Is there a way to retrieve the old definition of a view.. like any dbc tables?

AFAIK, if dbc and backup are not possible, then I can think of Unity Director, if you have system1 and System2. Just my thought.

select requesttext,tablekind from dbc.tables where databasename='dbc' and tablekind='V'

and you can verify with.

SHOW QUALIFIED SELECT * FROM VIEW1 say

Also if you are looking for some old definitions, then all organizations maintain repository of versions.

but i know that we can get the latest(current) view definition from dbc.tables.

I was wondering if there is any other table which can give old view definition..

Unfortunately, we do not maitain the version of views.. We do have backups..I was trying to find out if there is any other way !!

Did you check DBQL tables, if you enable them like Querytext from DBC.DBQLogTbl?

Also  I can think of Teradata MDS. I think like other repositories , it should have this.
