What Service Work Station Does

What service work station (SWS) can do ? speicifically If user does not have TPA nodes root password is it possible for the SWS root user to connect to the node ? Is it possible to access customer data using SWS without having TPA node password ? What are the general tasks can be performed using SWS

Re: What Service Work Station Does

The SWS is just a Linux workstation that provides on-site access to Teradata Server Management Web Services (SMWeb).

See the "Hardware" section at http://info.teradata.com for more documentation regarding Teradata Server Management features.

Having TPA node root access doesn't provide access to customer data, except perhaps incidentally (e.g. captured in an error message or failure dump).
