datatype issue

hi,

 

1. i need to convert : sql_varient and sysname datatype to teradata .

v_value sql_varient = NULL,

v_level1name sysname = NULL

 

someone know if there is the same datatype?

 

2. also i need to convert datalength function. there is some Equal function in Tera?

SYSNAME is used to store object names in SQL Server, as the limits are similar in Teradata it's the same as VARCHAR(128) CHARACTER SET UNICODE.

 

SQL_VARIANT doesn't exist in Teradata (there's VARIANT_TYPE, but only for User Defined Functions).

You need to assign a datatype matching the actual data.
