how teradata identify for the psuedo table

Basically i wanted to know how teradata identify for the Psuedo table. And why adjactly teradata need Psuedo table.

The "pseudo table" is simply a hash derived from the real table's ID. Its purpose is to prevent false deadlocks. Before we implemented this technique, two transactions that contended for a lock on the same table would sometimes deadlock because each transaction would win the lock on a different set of AMPs first. The pseudo table hash lock protcol allows the contention to be resolved on a single AMP.
