Re: job in teradata..

Which load tool do you want to use?
Is the text fixed width or delimited?
How many rows will be loaded?
A single text file for all tables?

Hi Smithaa,

Yes you can use bteq for your tables; I would say BTEQ is the best utility when records are less in number, as it does not have prepartion steps like other load utilities.

The syntax for loading a fixed length file with out any delimiter is below for your reference...

.LOGON TDPID/Username,Password
.IMPORT DATA FILE = datain
.QUIET ON
.REPEAT *
USING CustNo (INTEGER)
,SocSec (INTEGER)
,Unused (CHAR(30))
,Lname (CHAR(20))
,Fname (CHAR(10))
INSERT INTO Customer
( Customer_Number
,Last_Name
,First_Name
,Social Security)
VALUES (:CustNo
,:Lname
,:Fname
,:SocSec);
.QUIT

you can find lot of examples in net for any combination of code you want...

hope this help you...

Re: job in teradata..

may be you can use MLOAD. through MLOAD you can load upto 5 tables at a time.
