I m having a model table and a view is created on that model table.
which one is the better one to access.
either model table or view?

You access the data from any of the two..
Generally view is created to restrict the user.

i am having a column in which it contains data like ......
i want to extract the data in the first field,and the second field and the third field independently......
i tried using substring and position.....but its becoming too long process.....
can u help me in that.....

give some sample datas and the output you required from those sample datas

Hi,

If you have fixed length data value, then substring option is the best way to extract the individual data.

eg:

Sel substr(str_exp,2,3),substr(str_exp,7,3),substr(str_exp,12,3) from tablename;

If it is not a fixed length then try using stored procedure to exteract the data
