"Black diamond question mark" character not Inserted into Teradata

Hi All,

I am facing atrouble in loading multi language character set from SAP BODS to Teradata.

 

"Black diamond question mark" character not Inserted into Teradata

 

Is there any idea how can I load records with such character?

 

Can anyone help!

That symbol is used in several fonts to indicate the "substitution" error character, e.g hex 1A in TD LATIN (or ASCII) , hex FFFD in UNICODE.

Teradata can insert the character without translation (e.g. single-byte characters into a LATIN field or UTF8/UTF16 characters into a UNICODE field) but cannot translate them.

Search for other posts referencing these hex codes for some possible work-arounds.
