Re: what is the use of cteating USER in a DATABASE and A DATABASE in a USER

When USER is created under DATABASE, the database will become the owner of the user, meanin, the DATABASE gets the implicit privileges on objects contained in the USER and Vice versa. Both USER and DATABASE can own perm space and objects (tables, indexes, procedures) can be created in this perm space.

In Teradata, only a user can establish a session while a database cannot. A USER is created with Password.

For more details refer to DDL manual.
