Rename Tables - Fallback Table, Non-back table

Hi All,

I have read in SQL Reference - Data Manipulation Statements that

UPDATE Processing Time for an UPDATE operation is longer under the following conditions:
"When the FALLBACK option is specified for the table, because the rows in the secondary copy of the table must also be updated"

In my process I am loading data into intermediate staging table and then performing various update on that... and at last I m renaming table to final table to use updated data in another process.

During updating process required time is very higher more than 25 min and CPU skew in also higher.

so Here is my question,

if I turn Temp intermediate staging table to non - fallback and make update on it and then rename to final table which should be fallback then is it possible by RENAME function ..

Like:
Temp1 - Non Fallback
Final Table - Fallback

Rename Temp as Final Table

and as end result Renamed final table will be created with Fallback only.....

Re: Rename Tables - Fallback Table, Non-back table

sorry , It was so silly question... I checked and read table alter topics in TD manual... now doubt is clear....

CREATE SET TABLE ONE_DAY_TABLES.t1 ,FALLBACK ,
NO BEFORE JOURNAL,
NO AFTER JOURNAL,
CHECKSUM = DEFAULT
(
a INTEGER
)
PRIMARY INDEX ( a );

CREATE SET TABLE ONE_DAY_TABLES.t2 ,NO FALLBACK ,
NO BEFORE JOURNAL,
NO AFTER JOURNAL,
CHECKSUM = DEFAULT
(
a INTEGER
)
PRIMARY INDEX ( a );

RENAME TABLE ONE_DAY_TABLES.t1 TO ONE_DAY_TABLES.t3;
RENAME TABLE ONE_DAY_TABLES.t2 TO ONE_DAY_TABLES.t1;
